The Seminole state softball team qualified for the NJCAA National Championship Sunday after blasting Connors State 21-3 in the championship game of the Region 2 Tournament to take the region title.
The Trojans entered into the regional with the No. 1 seed and a record of 42-5 (30-2) that included a 36 game winning streak. The streak began with a 5-3 road win at Cowley County Community College on February 13 and was brought to an end on a 2-3 extra inning loss to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on April 27.
The Seminole women opened their regional tournament with an 11-3 win over Eastern Oklahoma State and took down Northern Oklahoma 8-4 before beating Connors 2-0 to earn a spot in the title game.
Seminole will begin their run for the national title May 16 at Canyons Complex in St. George, Utah.
