SHAWNEE – Four Oklahoma Baptist athletes were named All-America for the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Tuesday.
Breanna Hurlbut, JoziRose Mayfield, McKae Mitchell and Sherine Van Der Westhuizen earned First-Team All-America honors for their performance in the 4x400-meter relay. The Lady Bison finished sixth in 3:42.54 to claim the first outdoor All-America honors in program history.
Mitchell also earned Second-Team status in the 400-meter run with an 11th place finish in 54.80 seconds.
Student-athletes earned First-Team USTFCCCA All-America status by finishing among the top-eight in an event at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, including as a member of a relay team. Second-team honors were awarded for a ninth through 12th place finish.
