Tecumseh Library: Teens can have some out-of-this-world fun with Hooplahoma
Local are getting a lesson in a unique workout and activity this summer with the program Hula Hooping with Hooplahoma, scheduled for two upcoming performances in libraries.
The program comes to the Tecumseh Public Library at 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, and at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, to the Shawnee Public Library.
The event is part of the library’s 2019 Summer Learning Challenge and will be led by Chelsea Ryan, circus artist and the owner of Hooplahoma. She will demonstrate a variety of hoop tricks and use of a cyr wheel, and will teach hula hooping techniques for teens of any experience level with a hula hoop.
Ryan is the 2018 USA Wheel Gymnastics National Champion with a cyr wheel, and is proficient in many circus skills, including unicycling, stilts, juggling and more.
Registration is required in advance of each of the session to participate.
