Shawnee police have now made several arrests in connection with a shooting reported while one car was chasing another on Jan. 22, with that incident allegedly involving an investigation around prescription drugs.

According to information released Friday by Shawnee police, that initial incident ended in the 1300 block of East Walnut Street after a vehicle had been firing shots a another vehicle, resulting in one car crashing into a front yard in that area.

The homeowner's surveillance camera picked up that chase and crash, which prompted further investigation, including a search of where shots were initially fired in the area of Main and Pesotum Streets, along with numerous interviews and search warrants.

Case reports are being turned over to the district attorney's office for consideration of formal charges. Watch for updates.
