Children, families invited for McLoud library events
The McLoud Public Library adds some new elements to its traditional story times through multiple monthly events. Activities are geared to children ages 5 and under and are planned at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays during March.
This month’s program slate includes:
March 3 and March 17 – Preschool Story Time, Feelings and Emotions: This is part of a series that will feature books that focus on emotions and feelings.
March 10 – Toys & Tots: Use fun and educational toys in a program aiming to help children learn and develop their brains through play.
March 24 – Stress Relief Story Time: Child Development Specialist and certified massage instructor Angie Porter, MS, CCPS, will lead an hour of calming activities that help promote literacy.
March 31 – Preschool Story Time, Wiggleworms: Children will take part in a morning of music and movement.
Twice a month, young children who are reading or learning to read are invited to make a new friend at “Sit, Stay, Read!” Offered from 4 to 6 p.m. on March 10 and March 24, it’s a chance for children to practice their reading to a certified therapy dog. Parent or guardian should call the library in advance to schedule a 20-minute time slot for their child to read.
