BRISTOW – Dylan Graham, Jaxon Meyers, Gage Boatman and Kane Ainesworth drove in two runs each and Tyler Thompson pitched five solid innings as the Tecumseh Savages opened the 2020 season with a 14-2 thumping of host Bristow in six innings.

Graham had a 3-for-4 effort from the plate with a triple, double and two runs batted in while Myers, Boatman, Ainesworth, Brandon Montgomery and Colby Trammell each finished 2-for-4.

Meyers hit two triples while Boatman and Ainesworth each doubled once as Tecumseh compiled 14 hits.

“We swung it really well today,” said Tecumseh head coach Roger Mize. “We scored five first-inning runs. Anytime you can do that, it takes pressure off your pitchers and defense. We played well defensively.”

The Savages jumped on the Pirates with five first-inning runs and scored two each in the second, third and fifth innings before scoring three times in the sixth.

Thompson allowed the two earned runs off five hits with nine strikeouts and no walks. Trammell pitched the sixth and allowed no hits and two walks while striking out a pair in relief.

Tecumseh is at home with Bristow today for a 5 p.m. start.
