 Tecumseh overcomes five miscues

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh overcame five errors to pin a 17-15 defeat on Choctaw Monday.

Tecumseh, 1-1, outhit Choctaw 17-15.

Harley Sturm, who hit Tecumseh’s only home run, posted three hits along with teammates Bristin Hayes and Shaelee Cranford. Cranford tripled and doubled while Hayes doubled twice.

Ayzia Shirey added two doubles and Gabi Jordan had one.

Sturm and Hayes drove in three runs apiece.

Four of Choctaw’s runs were unearned.

Tecumseh will compete in the Big Cat Classic Thursday and Friday.

Prague 2-0 to start 2020 season

HOLDENVILLE — Prague launched the 2020 campaign Monday with victories over Holdenville (18-17) and Coalgate (17-8).

Against Holdenville, Adisyn Auld highlighted the 22-hit attack with two home runs and a single, six runs batted in and three runs.

Taylor Hodges clubbed a grandslam HR. Also homering was Abby Kipps.

Racking up three hits for Prague were Josi Goodman and Kipps.

Against Coalgate, Prague never trailed after posting six runs in the first. The Red Devils also had a six-spot in the fifth.

Auld, who cracked two more homers, knocked in four runs. Hodges, who also had two roundtrippers, chalked up a game-high six runs batted in and scored three times.

Beth Denney had three hits out of the leadoff spot and Demi Manning doubled.

Prague will be home against Byng Wednesday.
