Lady Wolves' soccer team rolls to easy 8-0 win

Lillian Davis tallied three goals for a hat trick while Trinity Citizen scored one goal and assisted on two others as the Shawnee Lady Wolves rolled to an 8-0 rout of visiting Midwest City Friday night at Jim Thorpe Stadium.

Amanda Harris and Maggie Price each finished with one goal and one assist. Amanda Davis and Elaina Matkin also scored one goal apiece. Michaela Pearne was also credited with an assist as well.

Braunya Lewis was also credited with a save in goal for the Lady Wolves, who improved to 2-0 on the season.

Harris quickly opened the scoring for Shawnee in the second minute off a cross from Pearne.

Then in the 21st minute, Citizen made it 2-0 off a Harris assist.

Lillian Davis scored the first of her three goals in the 25th minute when a Camille Columbus penalty kick shot deflected off the post and Davis finished up the play with a score and a 3-0 Lady Wolves' advantage.

Price upped the count to 4-0 in the 30th minute when she scored off the first of Citizen's two assists.

The Lady Wolves went up 5-0 on an unassisted score by Davis in the 35th minute.

Amanda Davis made it 6-0 in the 60th minute off Citizen's second assist.

Then Lillian Davis picked up her third goal, off another unassisted effort, in the 70th minute.

Matkin then rounded out the scoring in the 75th minute off a Price assist.


The Lady Wolves suffered their first loss of the season Monday night, dropping a 2-0 decision to host Ponca City.

The Lady Wildcats got both of their goals in the 50th and 65th minutes.

Lewis recorded seven saves for Shawnee, which fell to 2-1 on the season.

“We have some things we can improve on,” said Shawnee coach Jason Merrell.

The Lady Wolves play at Harrah Thursday.
