MEEKER – Ty Gabbert's run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning proved to be the difference Thursday as the Meeker Bulldogs edged the Prague Red Devils, 5-3.

Prague took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning after a Trip Davis two-run double and an error. Meeker then pulled within 3-2 off a two-run single to right field by Cam Holt in the bottom half of the third.

The Bulldogs then pulled ahead for good in the fourth after Ty Gabbert's RBI single and Dakota Gabbert's sacrifice fly to left field in the fourth inning.

Starter Jacob Sellers got the pitching win after working four innings and allowing the three earned runs off one hit with six walks and three strikeouts. Jacob Martin got the save after pitching the fifth. Martin gave up one hit and struck out three.

Davis took the pitching loss in relief of the starter Branom Bailey.

Stroud 2, Meeker 1

The Tigers held a 5-3 edge in hits and rallied with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning to edge the Bulldogs.

Gage Powell had a stout pitching effort in the loss as he surrendered the two earned runs with seven strikeouts and only one walk in working all five innings.

Meeker's three hits came from Budgie Cameron, Dakota Gabbert and Ty Gabbert, who each finished 1-for-2.
