Pioneer Library System closes libraries through March 31
The Pioneer Library System has closed its libraries until at least Tuesday, March 31.
The decision has been made out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of protecting staff and customers from the spread of the novel coronavirus strain “COVID-19." The first positive test for the virus in a person living in the PLS service area was announced Sunday by the Oklahoma State Department of Health to be a Cleveland County resident. There is no indication at this time that this patient visited a Pioneer branch.
Fines have been suspended and checkout periods extended to Monday, April 6 for all physical items, regardless of type or original due date. Items should be returned after that date.
Customers who currently have materials on hold will be contacted by library staff about multiple options for obtaining those items.
Readers are encouraged to use the library’s downloadable services available online at www.pioneerlibrarysystem.org/download.
Library leadership will continue to monitor the situation regularly. Updates will be posted to the library's social media accounts and the library website, www.pioneerlibrarysystem.org.
