Leon Oliver West, of Meeker, went to be in the arms of Jesus on March 12, 2020, at the age of 87.

Leon was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Shawnee to Listen and Edith West.

He married the love of his life, Freeda (Wakole) West, on Feb. 8, 1956.

He is preceded in death by his brother Carl and both his parents.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Freeda West of the home; children: Terry West and wife Charisse of Wamego, Kansas, Gayla McCoy and husband Craig of Parker, Colorado, and David West and wife Christine of Sapulpa. Leon had seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He worked at Architectural Millwork for 54 years, and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Leon's passion was woodworking and he enjoyed spend his time in his garden. His legacy will be remembered by a host of other family and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, at First Assembly of God in Meeker.

Services are entrusted to Browns Family Funeral Home in McLoud.
