FireLake, Grand Casino to temporarily suspend casino operations in Shawnee

The Citizen Potawatomi Nation on Thursday announced it is temporarily closing gaming operations at the FireLake Casino and Grand Casino Hotel and Resort amid COVID-19 concerns.

The casinos were set to close at 11:59 p.m. on March 19 and will remain closed through April 1. And while there are currently no coronavirus cases in Pottawatomie County, the casinos will have limited staff at each property to do cleaning, security and also will have surveillance personnel on site as required per law. CPN reports it will pay casino personnel during this closure.

FireLake Discount Foods in Shawnee as well as the stores in Tecumseh and McLoud remain open with updated hours of operation.
