Leonard Elmer Schultz died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Shawnee on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at the age of 90.

Leonard was born July 07, 1929, in Enid. He graduated from Garber High School in 1947.

He joined the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He married Iva Call on Aug. 30, 1959.

He worked for Western Electric as an equipment installer across Oklahoma and Kansas and then later worked for Southwestern Bell as a switchman until his retirement in 1985. In his younger years, Leonard was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his Tri-Pacer.

He was strong in his faith and enjoyed attending the Lutheran church during his lifetime.

He enjoyed gardening, square dancing, going to Waunita Hot Springs Ranch in Gunnison, Colorado, and over the years also enjoyed his dogs Bandit and later his pal Toby.

He was preceded in death by his mother Minnie Kroll, father Elmer Schultz, step-father Frank Kroll and four siblings, infant twins and brothers, Wayne Kroll and Glen Kroll.

Leonard is survived by his wife Iva of the home; his brother Milburn Kroll and wife Fran of Enid; his sister Marlene Smith and husband Bill of Wichita, Kansas; sister-in-law’s Dolores Call of Cushing, Joyce Call of Smithville, Texas, Ella Mae Pace and husband Mike of Bartlesville, and Mickey Kroll of Yukon; his three children, Randy Schultz and wife Lisa of Shawnee; Kurt Schultz and wife Shannon of Shawnee, and Beth Ward and husband Kendall of Choctaw; grandsons Samuel Ward of Edmond, Patrick Ward and wife Jordan of Madison, Wisconsin, Dustin Schultz and wife Laura and great-grandchildren Ava and Rhett of Cashion, Logan Schultz of Wynnewood; Keith Johnson of Shawnee; five step-grandsons and two step great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held on Saturday, March 28, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. A memorial with friends and family will be held at a later date.
