In an effort to follow guidelines to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the decision was made by the Kolache Festival Association Board of Directors to cancel the 2020 Kolache Festival. All activities associated with the Kolache Festival are cancelled.

This decision was made after reviewing the CDC guidelines and the Oklahoma Health Department recommendations.

The 2020 Kolache Royalty Pageant is cancelled and if anyone who purchased raffle tickets from the royalty contestants would like a refund of their money they need to contact Rhonda McKee by email at rhondamckee@ymail.com or text 405-567-7234. If those who purchased the raffle tickets for the trip to Branson do not want a refund, those tickets will be entered into next year's drawing.

Due to the cancellation of the festival, refunds will be given to those who have paid fees for the Arts & Crafts Show and food booths. The Talent Show winners will receive their cash prize payouts.

Also, all the details already planned for this year's festival will be carried out for next year, including the theme, promotional t-shirts, and grand marshal, who is Kathy Eby.

"We are all very saddened by the decision we had to make, but feel the health and safety of the community and all the visitors to our town must be our first priority," stated Tonya Clark, festival president.

The Kolache Festival was planned for May 2. The festival has been an annual event in Prague, always on the first Saturday in May to celebrating the town's Czech heritage, since 1965.
