Avedis assists local nonprofit organizations in meeting critical needs
Avedis Foundation has allocated emergency discretionary funding to several local organizations to assist in addressing critical needs among the community during the growing COVID-19 pandemic.
As the coronavirus pervades the state, the Foundation has identified nonprofit organizations that provide essential items, food, and services for individuals and families affected by the social and economic impact of the pandemic. Those organizations include Community Market of Pottawatomie County, Shawnee Family YMCA, Legacy Parenting, Project Safe, Youth & Family Resource Center and The American Red Cross.
“We are committed to assisting our local nonprofit organizations during this difficult time,” stated Avedis Foundation president and CEO Kathy Laster. “The Avedis Foundation Board and staff thank each of these organizations as they are working tirelessly to make sure that critical needs in our community are being met,” Laster continued.
Among those critical needs are child care for hospital employees, first responders, and essential workers, diapers and baby formula, child services, domestic abuse services, and adequate food supplies.
Laster added that the Shawnee Family YMCA will be providing Essential Child Care for hospital employees, first responders, and workers who must be at work and are considered essential. For details, call the YMCA at 273-4386 or email email@example.com.
Additionally, Legacy Parenting will provide diapers and formula to those in need. For more information, call Legacy Parenting at 432-2844.
