Pott. County Election Board announces temporary county filing procedures
In response to the Pottawatomie County Commissioners State of Emergency and shelter-in-place order the County Election Board has closed its office to the public and changed it's candidate filing procedure which will take place April 8-10.
According to Election Board Secretary Jeannie Stover, candidates can take their paperwork to the Election Board office April 8-10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stover said the deadline to file is April 10 with no exceptions.
Stover said the Election Board staff will do a preliminary review of the Declaration of Candidacy by email at PottawatomieCounty@elections.ok.gov or over the phone at (405)273-8376.
Stover said people will not be allowed in the building and will need to place their paperwork in the drop box at the front door of the Election Board office which is housed in the County Commission building on Acme Road.
If a candidate is in need of a filing packet, Stover said he or she can contact the Pottawatomie County Election Board either by email or phone and they will help.
Packets can also be found at the Oklahoma State Election Board website at www.elections.ok.gov under the Candidate Info heading.
