“Hey, look at that,” Manfred the Woolly Mammoth, well-known lead actor of Ice Age fame, said. “Dinner and a show.”

A well-known local nonprofit is now belting out the same line.

Community Renewal of Pottawatomie County is gearing up for a night of musical entertainment and food for residents eager to hit those high notes.

Dinner, musical bingo, karaoke and cocktails are all part of the lineup for attendees.

Sponsored by BancFirst of Shawnee and hosted by Grand Casino Hotel and Resort, proceeds from the karaoke party is a fundraiser set to benefit Community Renewal.

“What better way to support a community building organization like Community Renewal than gathering with your friends to share a great meal and have an absolute blast singing everyone’s favorite songs,” BancFirst Senior Vice President Mike Affentranger said.

“Our area has so many great events to attend year-round,” Annie Minnigh, Community Renewal board member said. “We Care-aoke is an opportunity to have fun around something that everyone loves — music — and raise funds for an organization that is doing really important work in our county and schools.”

The inaugural We Care-aoke event is set from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Grand Casino Hotel and Resort.
