Eric Zheng, 11 year old pianist and a fifth grader at Grove School, recently won

first place in the Gilliam Competition in Oklahoma City. The competition is sponsored by the

OKC Orchestra League for students through grade eight and is made possible by a gift

from Mike and Wanda Gilliam, major supporters of the music community in Oklahoma. The

competition is designed to support and encourage younger piano students to reach their musical

potential. This year there were 18 pianists competing for First Place. The first and second place

winners will perform in a Winners Recital on Sunday, February 23 at 3:30 p.m. at OCU Bass

School of Music. Eric is a piano student of Dr. Ron Lewis.
