Shawnee City Commission: Airport Authority defers tractor lease-to-own plan
The Airport Authority this week addressed several items that needed attention.
Shawnee City Commissioners decided to assess more details regarding cost information and specifics on the tractor (such as how many hours of use it has on it and whether it is 4-wheel drive) before entering into a lease-to-own agreement; the board deferred the item.
Also, commissioners approved a resolution declaring certain items of personal property surplus and authorizing their sale at auction or disposal at the Shawnee Regional Airport’s discretion. All funds collected will be allocated to the airport.
Rental rates for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 were approved, as well. The new policy establishes a standard annual rental rate increase with an escalation clause based on the national rate of inflation as established by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) change from the prior calendar year. The policy also establishes the commencement of the Fiscal Year as the date of application of new rates. The CPI based rate of inflation for calendar year 2019 is 2.3 percent.
Commissioners also voted to implement an after-hours service fee of $50 per hour, which will begin at the start of the new Fiscal Year, July 1, 2020. Previously there has been no charge for after-hours service, Airport Manager Bonnie Wilson said.
Commissioners revised language for standard non-commercial hangar lease agreements for the new Fiscal Year 2020-2021, authorizing the city manager to execute them throughout fiscal year 2021, as necessary.
