Elizabeth “Ann” Thompson, 81, lifelong resident of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at her home.

She was born March 26, 1938, to Burl and Linnie (Robinson) Dunbar in Tecumseh.

Ann was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools.

She married Thomas Thompson on July 2, 1955, in Gainesville, Texas, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1986.

Ann was a homemaker for most of her adult life and worked outside the home for James Sausage Company, operated Ann’s Bridal and Formal, and worked in home health care before she retired.

She enjoyed quilting, flowers, going on foliage trips, bowling, dancing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Thompson; her parents, Burl and Linnie Dunbar; three sisters, Ruby Waldrop, Frances Casteel and Eddie Peniston; two brothers, Glen “Pete” Dunbar and Larsh Dunbar.

Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter and one son-in-law, Shirley and Don Ellis of Tecumseh; two sons, Thomas and Jenny Thompson of Tecumseh, and Jeff and Angie Thompson of Tecumseh; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, at Cooper Funeral Home.

Service will be 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
