Ricky “Clayton” Clarkson, 30, died June 14, 2020, in Oklahoma City.

He spent most of his life in Shawnee and his childhood in Meeker. A car and truck enthusiast, his wallet included pictures of every car he ever owned.

Clayton was born March 25, 1990, in Shawnee. He not only enjoyed vehicles, he enjoyed fishing, especially with his paternal grandfather. His grandmother just wondered what to do with the two or three cars under repair in the driveway, his mother fondly recalled. He also loved using music to tell a story.

Clayton graduated from Meeker High School. He attended Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee and used those skills in his work.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richie Clay Clarkson.

Survivors are his mother, Ginger Louise Clarkson; brother ,Zachary Clay Clarkson and Zachary’s wife Angela; paternal grandparents, Shirley and Charles Lowery of Shawnee; paternal aunt and uncle, Celeste and Jimmie Enochs; maternal grandparents and aunt; Charlotte, his four-legged best friend; his maternal cousins, other paternal step family, cousins and family members, and many friends.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Liberty Baptist Church, 711 E. Federal Street, Shawnee.
