Thomas J. “Tom” Qualls III, 65, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020.

Thomas J. “Tom” Qualls III, 65, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020.

He was born Sept. 25, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, to Thomas and Maria (Nunez) Qualls.

Tom was raised and attended school in El Paso, Texas.

He moved to Oklahoma and resided in the Tecumseh area.

On Dec. 10, 1996, Tom married Susie Smith in Shawnee.

Tom was a long distance truck driver where he worked for Welborn Trucking of Shawnee and Gilbert Truck of Tecumseh. Tom has traveled across the United States, including Alaska and Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Tom is survived by his wife, Susie Qualls of the home; one son, Thomas J. Qualls IV and fiancée Harley Rath of Tecumseh; one daughter, Rebecca Smith and life companion Dug McMahan of Tecumseh; one granddaughter, Brailey McMahan of Tecumseh; two sisters and two nieces, all of El Paso, Texas; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, July 17.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, July 17, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Herman Searcy officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
