Bethel’s poor start too much to overcome

OKLAHOMA CITY — Bethel’s boys couldn’t overcome a horrible start Friday night, dropping a 58-51 decision to Community Christian School.

Community Christian streaked to a 16-2 advantage after one quarter and led 35-22 at halftime.

Bethel, in falling to 12-10, received double-figure scoring from Anthony Franklin (14), Ben Pfeiff (13) and Jaylon Gordon (12).

Franklin and Gordon posted two 3-point field goals apiece.

Bethel will entertain Mt. St. Mary Tuesday night to close out the regular season. The girls’ game will begin at 6:30, followed by the boys’ contest.

Bethel will travel to Tulsa Central Friday, Feb. 16 for Class 4A district-tournament action.
