Crook puts up 33 points in triumph

BETHANY — Tristan Crook poured in 33 points, lifting McLoud to a 63-51 triumph over Western Heights Saturday in the seventh-place matchup of the Bethany Classic.

Crook registered 22 second-half points, including 13 in the third quarter.

Senior Conner Cheney added nine points as McLoud leveled its record at 6-6.

Crook’s scoring high this season is 34 against Silo.

McLoud hit 80.7% (21-of-26) of its free throws. Jacob Jordan went 4-of-4.

Girls Consolation Championship

McLoud 59, Bethany 50

Junior Cheyenne Banks and Lexie Boyer netted 22 and 16 points respectively for McLoud.

McLoud trailed 27-26 at halftime but took charge with a 20-9 third quarter.

The victors (5-7) canned 15-of-18 free throws with Boyer going 9-of-10.

Sophomore Destin Walker of McLoud sank three 3-point field goals, including one near midcourt to end the third period.

Both McLoud squads will entertain Mount St. Mary’s tonight.
