BETHEL ACRES — Junior Drae Wood hit a layup off a missed free throw with 30 seconds remaining in overtime to lift Bethel to a 61-59 victory over Harrah Tuesday night.

Harrah missed a 3-point shot with three seconds to go.

Regulation ended in a tie at 53.

Wood topped Bethel’s scoring with 19. Sophomore Gage Porter netted 11 and Jaylon Gordon posted 10.

Porter sank three shots from beyond the 3-point line.

Bethel (5-4) also received nine points from Jesse Tucker.

“It was a great game,” said Bethel coach Eric Litherland. “We found a way to win.”

Harrah’s Cooper Kinsey, who didn’t score in the opening quarter, concluded the game with 25 points, including five 3-pointers. Cooper had 14 points in the second quarter.

Harrah 49, Bethel 44

Bethel (5-4) couldn’t quite overcome a 30-21 halftime deficit.

Bethel was just 12 of 21 from the line while Harrah was 15 of 22.

“That was the difference in the game,” Bethel coach Tara Satterfield said.

Harrah’s Katie King was the high scorer with 25.

Bethel received 17 points from Parker Stevenson and 16 from Kelsie Wood. Wood chalked up four 3-pointers, all in the second half.

Kennedy Gregory added nine points for Bethel.

Bethel’s girls will take on Noble at noon Wednesday at Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Arena. The Bethel-Noble boys’ game will follow.
