Dale girls blitz OCS, Pirates nipped by Clinton
CASHION — Eleven Dale girls got in the scoring column Thursday in a 71-48 blitz of Oklahoma Christian School at the Cashion County Line Tournament.
Dale (10-5) led 43-25 at the intermission.
Jacie McClure topped Dale’s scoring with 14, followed by Danyn Lang with 13.
McClure knocked down two 2-point field goals while Lang had all of her points in the opening half.
Dale was 15 of 23 from the free-throw line. Makenzie Gill, Faith Wright and Libby Johnson posted one 3-point FG apiece.
Emilia Idleman had nine points for Dale.
OCS had just four players score with Hannah Voskuhl leading the way with 16. Meg Brady added 12.
Dale advances to today’s 4:20 semifinals against the Clinton-Perry winner.

Two days after a heartbreaking 45-44 loss to Bethel, the injury-plagued Pirates suffered another close setback.
Dale junior Palmer Jones has missed the last five games with a hip injury and senior Brady Johnson has missed six straight games with an ankle mishap.
Still, the Pirates stayed close throughout and Dallen Forsythe canned a 3-point FG with one second remaining.
Forsythe was Dale’s leading scorer with 16 points. Ike Shirey compiled 15 points, including two 3-point bombs, and Carter Crowe notched 10 points, also with two treys.
Dale was up by 14 points at one juncture but Clinton shot 16 free throws, hitting 11, while Dale was just 4 of 8.
“We have to do a better job of finishing out,” Dale coach Jeff Edmonson said.
Dale (12-4) drops into today’s 12:20 consolations against Elk City, a Thursday loser to Oklahoma Christian School.
