Lady Wolves take second at Jenks regional

JENKS – The Shawnee girls swim team took second to Booker T. Washington and the boys finished sixth at the Class 5A swimming regional at Jenks last weekend. The two squads combined to finish fourth as a school.

Lauren Grein took first place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:09.88 to finish as the only member of the Lady Wolves to win an individual event. Breeanna Lee took fourth with a time of 1:14.55.

Leticia Cervantes tied for third-place in the 500 yard freestyle race with Washington's Mackenzie Martin in a time of 5:43.03. Cervantes also finished second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:24.59.

Isabel Webb took second in the girls 50 freestyle with a time of 26.58 and ffith in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.96.

The girls 200-meter relay team of Cervantes, Grein, Jordyn Sateren and Webb took first-place with a time of 1:48.15 and second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:02.02.


The Shawnee boys were disqualified from the 200 medley relay after an early take-off and finished fifth in the 400 free relay (3:56.90) and 200 free relay (1:40.30).

Freshman Trent Ogden took fourth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.15 and seventh in the 50 free race with a time of 23.49.

Brodie Morris finished sixth in the 500 free with a time of 5:30.49 and Kiergan Gibson (1:13.17) took seventh in the 100 breast.
